Every bill, twelve months out

Know what's leaving. Not just this month.

Bufferpot spreads every bill across the months it has left, so December's property tax stops being a December problem. One number to set aside this month, and a year of them laid out behind it.

Free. No card, no bank connection.

The Bufferpot forecast: €238.12 still to set aside in August, a bar chart of the next twelve months, and a table of what goes out and what to put aside each month.

Energy, water, insurance, road tax, school fees, subscriptions the bills that don't arrive every month are the ones that hurt

Arithmetic you'd do yourself, if you ever got round to it

No categories to maintain, no spending to classify. Just the bills you know are coming.

Twelve months of outgoings

Every bill projected a year forward: what leaves each month, what to put aside, and how much you already hold against it. Recurring bills carry themselves forward.

Every bill saves for itself

What a bill still needs, divided by the months it has left. Nothing is pooled — so a bill you're ahead on can't quietly starve the one behind it.

Forward an invoice, skip the typing

Send a bill to your private Bufferpot address and it reads the amount, due date and biller. Confirm the first one from each sender; after that they file themselves.

How Bufferpot works

Three steps, then it runs quietly in the background.

STEP 1

Add a bill — or forward one

Enter it once, or forward the invoice email to the private address in your profile. Only senders you've approved can put anything into your account.

STEP 2

It works out this month's number

Each bill is spread across the months it has left, then added up: what goes out, what to set aside now, and what you already hold.

STEP 3

You hear about it in time

An email three days before a bill is due — or whatever notice you set. If one slips past anyway, an overdue notice follows.

The Bufferpot progress table: each month with what was needed, what was reached, and a percentage — 100% in January, 74% in August.

A score for every month, kept honestly

Each month records two numbers: what you needed to set aside, and what you actually reached. Hit it and the month goes green. Fall short and the percentage tells you by how much, while there's still time to make it up.

Twelve months of them, so a thin January sits next to the eleven that went fine — and you can open any month to see which bill it was.

Savings goals too

A holiday or a new washing machine gets the same monthly maths as a bill. It just never emails you a due date.

A private address you control

Your forwarding address is yours alone, and you can issue a new one whenever you like.

How to pay, kept with the bill

Account number, reference, payment link — whatever the invoice printed, stored against that bill.

Leave whenever

Delete your account from your profile and everything goes with it, forwarded invoices included.

Questions, answered

How does forwarding an invoice work?

Your profile has a private address that belongs only to you. Forward a bill to it and Bufferpot reads the amount, due date and biller, then either updates the bill it belongs to or asks you which one it is. The first email from any new sender waits for your approval before anything is read.

Is it really automatic?

Mostly, and deliberately not always. A bill from a sender Bufferpot already knows is filed without you doing anything. A new one, or one it isn't confident about, waits in a review list for a single tap — a wrong silent guess is worse than one question.

What happens to an invoice I forward?

To read it, the email text and any PDF attachment are sent to Anthropic's API, which returns the amount, due date and biller. The original is kept so you can check what a bill was created from and undo it. This is the only case where your data leaves our server, and it only ever applies to invoices you choose to forward — never to your bills, savings or account. Prefer that nothing left? Type your bills in; everything else still works.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. There is no bank connection, no card, no open-banking licence and no scanning of your inbox. Bufferpot knows what you type in and what you forward to it, and nothing else. It never moves money — you still pay your bills the way you always have.

Which bills can it track?

One-off bills, and anything that repeats monthly, quarterly or yearly. Each time you settle a recurring bill the next one is created automatically, with its own saving plan across the months until it lands.

Is this a budgeting app?

No — there are no categories to fund or spending to classify. Bufferpot only handles bills and goals with a known amount and a rough date: energy, insurance, road tax, a holiday. If you already use YNAB, Actual or a spreadsheet for day-to-day spending, Bufferpot sits alongside it — one less thing that budget has to remember.

Can my partner see the same bills?

Not yet — today an account belongs to one person, and shared household access is the next thing being built. In the meantime you can approve their email address to forward invoices into your account, even though they can't sign in to it.

What does it cost?

Nothing. There's no paid plan, no trial and no card to enter. If that ever changes, it won't change underneath you.
